How to use other blogs to get traffic
July 18, 2008
When you find that one of your blog entries received some good comments don’t you feel happy? You know that someone has taken the time to read one of your entries and has left a comment and now you are curious to know who visited your blog so you click on their link and checkout what they are up to.
Similarly, you can also visit different blogs and leave comments so that the blog owner as well as the people visiting that blog will checkout your blog. When leaving comments don’t just say ‘I like your post’ this will turn off people since it doesn’t sound sincere and people might even think you are just commenting to get visitors to your blog. Avoid one line comments share your passion about the topic being discussed .
If you don’t feel like commenting on a post move on to the next post eventually you’ll find something that interests you.
Live journal is a great place to search for other blogs that discuss about different topics and its one of the popular ones too. When you are at the LiveJournal website you’ll find that you can search for interests on their site and it will come up with results of those who have that interest.
Are you interested in fly fishing? You can see what other bloggers are interested in fly fishing as well.
Once you find some interesting blogs leave your comments with a link to your blog. You can subtely hint people that you have something interesting on your blog as well
For instance, you can leave a comment like “Hey thats intersting you know what I was talking about this to my friend yesterday so we decided to take a picture of that rare fish and post it on our blog”
By leaving a comment like this, you are not directly telling people to visit your blog but they know you have recently posted a picture so they would naturally want to check it out.
Remember this, after typing your comment think from the prespective of the reader and see if it looks like a genuine comment if not make some changes before you hit the submit button.
